Celebrating Success

This week has been a fantastic week here at The Newbridge School.

Last night saw us hold our Open Evening for prospective Year 7 students. It was so nice to invite people into the school and showcase the hard work of our fantastic staff and students, and meet lots of our future students.

Next week we will be sending out information regarding our Tutor Parents Evening, this will be a chance for our existing parents and carers to visit the school and meet with their child’s form tutor. We are really looking forward to having the chance to meet some of you during this important evening.

We will also be welcoming our Apollo Sixth Form to the school on Monday and Tuesday when they visit with our Year 11 and 10 students to talk about Post 16 destinations.

For our Year 9 students, we have sent out information today regarding possible vocational options for Year 10. Parents are encouraged to attend the local open day if this is something they think might benefit their child.

This week has also been a week for celebrating. After a number of successful auditions, our Performing Arts staff have cast this year’s pantomime. The level of talent our staff saw in the auditions was amazing, and we know this year’s pantomime is going to be outstanding.

This morning we held our weekly Hot Chocolate Friday, and this week we celebrated some of our Year 8 students who have achieved high numbers of reward points. We have been really impressed with the majority of our students who have started this year with a positive attitude and have received a record number of reward points across the whole school.

We have celebrated some of our students’ successes outside of school too. Earlier in the week, we met with two students who at the weekend became the number one ranked mixed doubles badminton players for their age, and then we congratulated two more students who have recently been cast in this year’s professional Loughborough Town Hall pantomime.

It really is a privilege to be able to share these successes with our students, and if your child is involved in anything outside of school please do contact us to let us know.
