Digital Learning

Now that the new school year is fully underway, I am writing to you about the increasing use of digital learning in the school.
The introduction of ipads in Year 7 and 8, and the increasing availability of educational resources online, has meant that a growing amount of tasks are set for students online.
Some teachers are setting both individual and groups of lessons through online platforms such as Google Classroom. These platforms include the facility for teachers and students to send messages to each other about the work set. Students are able to respond to teachers’ comments online.
Messages can arrive at your child’s device at any time of day or night. That does not mean that we expect an immediate response. It is not our intention that students should be doing their school work or responding to any message when they should be asleep!
I would recommend that all devices are set to silent after bedtime.
If you have any further questions about your child’s online school work, please get in touch.
